Re: Question for the Vol fans

all i've ever heard is that VT doesn't have any wins over top 10 teams because they don't finish in the top 10

....obviously cal isn't gonna finish in the top 10 and even if they did it'd only be because they played UT early and not late

so i posed the question...would you count this as a win over a top 10 team and still criticize VT for having none

Would you count VT's win over Northeastern as a victory over a top 100 team?? Oh that's right they're I-AA, so I don't know what you chalk that up as.

I have never said that tech doesn't have any wins over top 10 teams. Since all the polsters and the ones that vote are supposed to only look at what their record is when the game happens. If you didn't do it this way none of the top 10 at the end of the year would have a win over a top 10 team.

    my point, exactly

i'm not sayin UT's wasn't a win over a top 10 team...just that you're gonna have to count VT's if you're gonna count this one

What wins over top 10 teams? VPI plays I-AA schools and crappy Big Least teams. At least until a couple of years ago. Now they play I-AA schools, crappy ACC teams, FSU, and Miami.

Re: Question for the Vol fans

I'll admit that a couple of the ACC teams are pretty crappy, but not too long ago a couple of them performed pretty well against UT in the Peach and it wasn't UM or FSU either. UK, Ole Miss and Vandy aren't exactly powerhouses either.
